Apparently, in the early 2000s someone ran a mailing list called MONKEYWIRE to share monkey and ape news. It ran for approximately 10 years before they couldn't be bothered anymore and the website went offline.

The interesting thing is this period overlaps with Karl Pilkington's Monkey News segment on Xfm and indeed many of the stories seem to be in the archive. Was Karl a subscriber? Can this archive answer the many unanswered questions of Monkey News? Nobody knows...
